2. What we collect
Only what you send us. When you request a quote, send a photo of a part or make an enquiry, we receive the details you type in: your name, company, email address, phone number, country, machine, your order or PO reference, your notes and the parts on your list, plus any photos you attach.
We do not ask for payment details on this website, and we do not use advertising or tracking tools.
3. How we use it
To identify the parts you need, reply with prices and availability, supply goods you order and keep a record of our dealings with you. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, and our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business (for example, keeping a record of enquiries and blocking spam).
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing lists. We will only send you marketing if you ask us to.
4. Where it is kept and for how long
Each enquiry is emailed to our sales team and a copy, with any photos, is kept on our web server in a private folder that is not reachable from the internet. Our website and email are hosted by IONOS in the UK and EU.
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted after 2 years. Where you order from us, records are kept for 6 years to meet accounting and tax rules.
5. Who else sees it
Only Matparts staff and the companies that provide our hosting, email and spam protection, who act on our instructions. If an order needs it, we pass delivery details to the courier. We may share information where the law requires us to.
6. Cookies and storage on your device
This website does not set cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics, so there is no cookie banner.
Your quote list, the machines you save under My machines, recently viewed parts and display choices such as Book view are kept in your own browser (local storage) so they are still there next time. They are not sent to us until you submit a form, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
The site can be installed as an app and keeps copies of manual drawings you have viewed, so they open without a signal on the factory floor.
7. Third-party services
Fonts: the page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your device's IP address to deliver them. No cookies are set.
Spam protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending them. Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser for this check only and does not use it for advertising.
WhatsApp: if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, your messages are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
8. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Email info@matparts.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
9. Changes
We will update this page if the way we use information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
